Jean Morel conducts the Paris Conservatoire Orchestra. Superb low end, a rich, robust and vibrant-sounding album. Great midrange life and transparency. Orchestrations of Albeniz’ incomparable Iberia. Double-basses are extremely well-pitched and dynamic, a characteristic of the RCA Paris recordings. The Rapsodie espagnole that fills out side four is a humdinger.
Recorded in La Maison de la Chimie (Paris)
Producer: Ray Minshull
Engineer: Kenneth Wilkinson
