The album opens with “The Road”, a song written by China years ago during a divorce, and begins an exploration of who she is and could be. From there, the album moves seamlessly from stark, gentle ballad to autobiographical anthem to Americana-inspired pop, infused with vulnerable optimism and stark sincerity throughout.
